Singer and guitarist Lleuwen Steffan was born in the Ogwen Valley, North Wales.
She composes and writes mostly in her mother tongue - Welsh. After collaborating with Breton musicians in Lorient Interceltic Festival in 2008 she decided to learn the Breton language and to record her most recent album, Tân, in Pebezh Kaoc’haj Studios in Vannes, Brittany. This album is co-produced by multi-instrumentalist Vincent Guerin and was awarded Best Album for France 3 TV's FR3 Awards as well as been nominated for the Welsh Music Prize for album of the
Last year, Lleuwen won Liet International for her song Ar Gouloù Bev in Gijon, Asturias (liet-international.com).
She has toured extensivley in France and performed in various festivals including Genting Jazz Festival in Malaysia, Celtic Connections in Scotland and Ollin Kan Festival in Mexico.
