Purchase "Naoned Whisky"
The Maggie Whackers from Nantes released a five-track EP the end of January 2014 called, "Naoned Whisky". I was quite surprised the first time I listened to it and discovered that four of the five songs are in the English language. Track two is the only song in their native language called, "Sans Regrets Sans Remords", translating to, "Without Regrets Without Remorse".
I asked band member Lawryn what the title of the EP translates to. Thereis no real translation..."Naoned" is the Breton name of the city Nantes, and when they started recording the EP the band was then together for three years, which is the necessary minimum time for whiskey to age.
"Naoned Whisky" starts off with an incredible version of "Drunken Sailor", and ends with a song called, "Burn in Hell"...it is a song about Maggie Thatcher, which I found to be quite funny! Track 3 is my favorite..."Fucking Goblins"...a song I can certainly relate to after drinking!
The Maggie Whackers are a group of very talented musicians and their EP, "Naoned Whisky" is superb. I love the accent of the singer...it really makes the music stand out. I hope this incredible band puts out a full CD soon!
