Noel Lenaghan is a Professional musician and teacher of
traditional Irish flute, tin whistle and song. He has been
in the field for 35 years.
Worked professionally and toured and recorded in Canada with traditional irish band ‘Rakish Paddy’ from 1974-1981. Taught tin
whistle and flute in various workshops during the same period.
1981-1984 Based in Belfast, toured professionally in various European countries including:
France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Holland and Denmark,
playing at high profile international festivals including:
The Bordeaux Celtic Festival, St. Patrick’s Festival in Marseilles for the Marseilles Ireland Friendly Society. Also employed as tin whistle teacher at An Bunscoil, Shaws Road.
1987-1991 worked professionally and toured with ‘The Rambling Boys Of Pleasure’in the U.S.A. Playing at various Irish music festivals in Detroit, Cleveland and Chicago and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
1991-1993 based in Belfast worked and recorded with various combinations of musicians (see above).
1999-2002 Worked as music teacher in Galway School of Traditional Irish Music and as teacher of English at the Atlantic School of English, Galway
2002-2005 Based in Belfast working as professional performing
2006-2008 Spent one year and a half touring in New Zealand on a
travel grant from N.I. Atrs Council.
2008- present Living and working as performer and teacher of music here in Donegal.
