The exciting band, The Fair Trade, has released a cd, "The Fair Trade". I immediately fell in love with this album even before listening to it as soon as I saw all the old-time favorite Irish songs it has on it! Once I listened to it I was hooked and have listened to it several times now. I was too busy enjoying the music to even start a review!
When I do a review, the first thing I listen for is difference, and Fair Trade definitely offers a bit of change in these classics. You can listen to the exact same song done by different bands, it is the deliverance that counts and Fair Trade does not disappoint!
This band had me chilled as I listened to their rendition of "Back Home in Derry". It is so hauntingly beautiful and so passionately done that for the first time I heard this song I really wished I was back home. Their version of "Drunken Sailor" has a bit of a musical surprise between verses that was delightful, and "Galway Girls"...what a performance by Fair Trade!
You might all be saying..."I have those songs already, I have heard them over and over", but folks, you have not heard them by The Fair Trade and I can guarantee you will love this album every bit as much as I do!!!!
